CERT get fantastic rating for its apprenticeship provision

The FE Choices survey has been released for 2018-19 and I’m pleased to say that CERT has attained a 90.5% satisfaction rating for its Apprenticeship provision.

The average benchmark for Private Sector Public Funded organisations is 88.2%, Colleges 81% and All providers 86.5% - this put our service in the top echelons of provision across the U.K.

The survey asks apprentices and employers how they rate the service in a number of areas including:

  • How satisfied or dissatisfied are you with the teaching on your course or activity?

  • How satisfied or dissatisfied are you with the way staff treat you?

  • How satisfied or dissatisfied are you with the support you get on this course or activity?

  • How satisfied or dissatisfied are you that staff respond to the views of learners?

  • How satisfied or dissatisfied are you that the course or activity is meeting your expectations?

  • How satisfied or dissatisfied are you that the course or activity is preparing you for what you want to do next?

We are often asked why we got involved with delivering apprenticeships and the answer is quite simple. We got angry - angry about the way young people were being treated at the time by providers. We heard of people getting apprenticeships at major retailers that lased for less than 3 weeks and people using apprentices as a form of cheap labour and we knew that we could offer infinitely better opportunities, using the social enterprise approach.

We pride ourselves in delivering high quality apprenticeships with a relaxed but professional approach. Our provision is totally learner focused and we see our role as making sure that the journey for apprentices AND employers is meaningful and leads to positive outcomes for both parties.

CERT Apprenticeships allows people to build real-life experience in the workplace while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

We offer a range of different apprenticeships in North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a framework of separate qualifications that generally include a technical certificate for knowledge, vocational qualification for job role competence, English, Maths and I.C.T. qualifications.

There are three different skill levels:Intermediate, Advanced and Higher.

Apprenticeships take between one and two years to complete and most apprenticeships are delivered in partnership between the employer and a training provider like CERT.

CERT specialises in apprenticeships in:

  • Digital Marketing

  • Learning and development

  • Business administration

  • Management

  • Customer service

We are particularly keen to support the voluntary sector as well as private sector employers
