The Ropewalk in Barton upon Humber works with CERT and secures £103,000 in social investment
Thanks to support from Players of the People's Postcode Lottery, CERT has helped the Ropewalk in Barton upon Humber to secure a £103,000 investment from the Northern Cultural Regeneration Fund.
The fund, which is managed in this area by the Key Fund, helps arts and cultural organisations grow their social impact in local communities.
More than £3 million will be invested to support creative and cultural organisations across the Northern Powerhouse.Groups are eligible for grants or loans of up to £150,000. This could include using music sessions for young people not in education or craft workshops with former offenders.
The fund, which was set up to provide a lasting legacy to this summer’s Great Exhibition of the North, will also attract additional social investment to the region. It is part of the Government’s ongoing commitment to grow a culture of impact investing, including improving access to finance for local cultural and creative organisations that do social good.
Liz Bennet, Managing Director at the Ropewalk said "The Social Enterprise Humber project that is supported by the People's Postcode Lottery helped us to identify the opportunity and CERT helped us to liaise with the Key Fund and guided us through the application process. She added "With the new investment we will be able to increase our impact within the community and reach out to new groups of people and at the same time save money by investing in green energy products.
