Social Enterprise Network re-opens in the Humber

The Humber Social Enterprise Network is benefiting from the support of two new major funders.

The Players of the People's Post Code Lottery and the Connect Fund are funding CERT to deliver network activities and a programme of training and development for people interested in developing the social economy in the Humber and surrounding area.

As well as network events where the sector can come together to hear about new opportunities and developments in the sector and join forces to make the most of those opportunities, CERT will be delivering a series of masterclasses covering key issues (identified by the network) and lunchtime briefings that will let people understand a topic and assess whether they wish to pursue it in just an hour! We aim to get lots of stuff off your "busy lists"

Because of the support of our funders, all of the events are free of charge, however places are strictly limited.

The first three events are now planned.

On 25th October the first lunchtime briefing will take place and will look at Community Shares and how organisations can raise money and develop deeper connections with their communities. In just an hour you can find out whether this is something that you want to pursue, see examples of successful share issues and find out what support and funding is available to help you. Later in the month on 30th October the first Masterclass will look at Social Return on Investment (SROI). The masterclass will show you how to capture, manage and report the social impact created by your organisation. and how to attract new resources. SROI is the perfect way to increase the impact that your organisation develops and put a financial value on it.

The first networking event will take place on 15th November in Barton on Humber. The events are a great opportunity to meet people who are interested in developing the social economy - experienced social entrepreneurs, people just starting out, funders and investors and the public sector.

Even if you are at the "thinking about it" stage this is a good place to start. The first event is all about demonstrating the support available to you in this area and finding out what YOU want from the network and future events. Register your place here
